Oh, I should have got one!!

A really nice set, dorje and bell, finely cast bronze, adorned with intricate and meaningful designs…

BritishMuseum AN00250258_001_l

In Kathmandu…. they had them everywhere, in the countless street vendor stalls around the temples and in the gift shops of the touristy Thamel district.

Buddhists use them in prayer:

 Bells & Dorje

  • The Bell symbolizes feminine principle, the wisdom of emptiness.
  • The Dorje/Vajra, symbolizes the masculine principle (mind which is compassion). Compassion is expressed through skillful means.

Union of two principles brings about enlightened mind.

  •  bells clear mind from clouds of negative thoughts, creating calmness causing relaxation and a peaceful feeling.
  • Sacred sound has the unique ability to heal the divisions, while clearing away mental chatter.

Method of Use:

Bells and Dorje are easy to use.

  • Hold  Dorje gently in a vertical position in the right hand, close to the heart
  • Hold the  Bell in the left hand.
  • Strike them against each other, twice or thrice
  • Pause for 30 seconds while they resonate.
  • Do this to open and close meditation, yoga or study session.

When played,  Bells and Tingshas produce deep relaxation, quiet the nerves and for stress management.

Traditional Value

Traditionally these are used by many spiritual traditions throughout the East. Bells represents wisdom and the feminine aspect of the divine while the dorje represents the creative and forceful male energy. During ceremonies and rituals the bell is held in the left hand while the stick is in your right hand. As the sound of the bell resonates the bell and stick balance the negative with the positive to harmonize ones life and surroundings.

In our shamanic group everyone bought at least one set – everyone but me.

I am not a “spiritual shopper”

I am not a Buddhist and am not planning to ever pray with them like oa Buddhist or Tantrika either.

THAT’S why I did not get one – back in Nepal…….

Then why do I NOW feel I should have?

I read a lot

I understand a lot more now, about Buddhist worship, about Bön, about the Spirit, that manifests here, in my trance journeys and wishes me to follow him……

He has a gabrummmmsudle of spiritual weapons in his countless hands, a bell and a dorje among them…..

… the only ones I actually recognize……

But I am firmly anchored in the shamanic ways of my Sibrian ancestors and my animal Spirits……

I HAVE a brass bell, from my sister.

Its shape is “different” It is old, tarnished. It was with her samovar, her smudging censor and charcoal….. She used it in worship.

Like my Ada.

He had a large staff with a large bell on it – and blue and white silk streamers and Magpie feathers…..

He shamanized with that.

That and Vodka, Milk and Tea…

And Artish, for “smudging” Juniper twigs and ground Juniper berries, cedar twigs and herbs according to need…..

I wish I also had Ada’s bell….

Painting the card….

…..the red and blue hearts are for him and for Mausi!

Memories from a Petri Dish

Looking at this image, what do YOU see?

What do I see?

Yes, it reminds me of Nursing School, epidemiology lab, Petri dishes filled with – the pictures germs paint on aga, the nurture substance in the dish.

burstin forth

Life bursting forth!

Will it be good ? – or devastating?

The big bang in miniature form…….

….but able to conquer the world – fast…..

our Beginnings……

3 of time

Cells becoming,

mitosis, = ripe cells loosing their roundish form, becoming hour glass shaped – just before they divide themselves into 2…….

past, present future…..

Is that a Being in the lower part of the hour Glass?

Thoughts rising up from the spiralling brain?

Thoughts expanding into the space above, illuminated by stars…..

3 sister cells, very much alive, fulfilling their life cycle,

synchronized by the magic of life

But each separated and isolated by the cell’s dividing membrane……

Becoming … me, you and – ??

or 3 of me?

3 of you?

Animal, Human, Plant,

? Where are the others?

How are Spirits “born”

How do they come into Being?

What I “see”

l and k pic

This is, what it looks like!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When on a trance journey I am shown the inside of the body of my patient and ….. there among the fine folds of the bowl wall the cancer cells are hiding and ……

What a luck, this card is black and white….

Iffff these cells would have been showing up as blue, I would have puked up my breakfast……

Kidney are still clean, liver too, but among and between the blood vessels of the bowl, the mesenteric arteries, that is where doom lurks……

That is, what “inoperable” looks like…..

I had to put this card down –

Remember to breath….”

liver and kidney

When then I read the notes in the booklet, the word Chaos very aptly describes, what I “see” and feel, when being confronted with this image – on this card – or during a trance journey.

CHAOS is also, what will befall the client and the family. Al long sad road into the darkness of death……

Remember to breath….. “ advice for me, who may have to delier the message…. and provide guidance into and ultimately through this dark tunnel…..

remember to breath” also advice for the client and loved ones, in order not be swallowed by the CHAOS and centre enough to saviour the islets of love and joy and family in the right now …..of the time left….

the notes talk abut an Octopus. I see, where that might come in, but for me the head and eyes of this magnificent and vastly intelligent creature are missing…..

Octopus to me is “brains” and “smarts” – a kind of intelligence that is sooooo very different from that of a human.

Octopus is also the strange sadness, that grips me when i call to mind, that such a magnificent creature with THAT intelligence only lives for 3 years…… On this side f the veil…..

Onion is mentioned as well. Onion is the bringer of layers of tears…..

Layers of truth as well,

layers of love,

layers of feelings,

layers of how things are revealed

what is in the centre?

What is in the centre of all my layers?

What is in the centre of your layers?

A’HA Oracle

On the Aeclectic Tarot forum we have a Chat thread, where everyone posts a little something once a day and at the end of the month Solandia, the owner of the site draws 2 post numbers from the entries made and whoever wrote that post wins a little something = a Tarot or Oracle related prize, offered up by members of the forum. There are quite a few gifted deck creators among the membership and some of them offer up one of their deck as a little promotion.

I guess, you are sensing, why I am sharing this right now – and you are right:

In January I won!!!!

I was permitted to chose from several of the prizes offered.

One of them was the Healing Tarot, about which I wrote a few impressions on this blog. Then there were hand sown Tarot bags offered up, the mayors only Blue Moon Tarot by Julie Cuccia-Watts,the Australian Wildflower deck and talisman pack, by Cheralyn and a few other treasures.

I however chose the A’HA Oracle created by Linnie.

deck (1)

It took 3 weeks for it to arrive from Australia and so was just about in time to become my deck of the month for February 🙂

Now, it is quite difficult for me to write anything about the deck here on the blog – because the creator is one of my trusted readers here 🙂

Hi Linnie!

I also consider Linnie a friend.

So I was doubly curious to lay hands on her creation.

It arrived in a beautiful sturdy box held in earth tones. The card stock also is sturdy and durable.

Now, I need to tell you, that the A’HA Oracle is largely black and white, circular images on black card stoc and I know, I am “not very good” with B/W decks.

– Last month’s Healing Tarot was a B/W deck as well and I did not bond with it at all = which however is largely due to the medical attributions given to the cards in a rather arbitrary way. One just can not flip over a couple of cards and tell a person – you have bad teeth, lung cancer and you weigh toooo much…… 😦

Well, back to A’HA:

I have to honestly say, the first 4 cards I looked at left me a little sad and depressed:

too similar to remember

Maybe that was, because I was quite sick with the flue at that time and I needed something more cheerful? The coresponding notes in the booklet however were sweet and uplifting 🙂

Other cards I looked at – made me immediately think: Oh, what ifffff this was in colour!??

Yes, I enjoyed reading the little paragraphs of the book more than the B/W images.

So, what if they wear some colour? Will this insult toe creator, my friend? Can I even risk it to tell you -and her here, that I am messing with her cards? I have to risk that! I think, that THAT is my personal process with A’HA.

So for the next 2 weeks I picked a daily card, read about it and then decided, if I would colour it in.

DSCN3343 sm

Colours are sooooooo important to me! THAT is one thing, I learned through A’HA so far 🙂

Yes!! I have other B?W – or largely B?W decks and – I coloured – painted them:

My beloved Ironwing!

My Wild Unknown Tarot!

I feel, my need for colour in divination cards comes from the fact, that I “see” all these more than realistic ueber-vivid colours in Theta trance journeys and that the colours each have a specific meaning in/ for the context of the journey.

Now, A’HA is changing colour……

Will I paint the whole deck?

There are a few cards, that teach me something – in just their B/W dress.

I will write more about at least one of them…..
